very nice truck, keep up the good work. i have a few questions about ur truck. i am currently have a custom build project going. its a proline dodge ram mega cab from a T-Maxx. i am building a custom chassis based off the axial scx 10 kit and suspension to fit the body, got rc4wd blackwell axles, shocks, new links longer drive shafts and etc… my question is, is there a frame rail kit like the scx 10, but only longer, around 19” in. i do like the look of the chassis and want to build a scale truck out of it. plus haul my whitebone gooseneck trailer for my scx 10 rock crawler. and my second question is what gearing or motor are u using, the speed of hi and low in the video looks right for mine, i need the low end to haul and a high end to play in sand and rocks. i looked at 2 speed trans but not sure if it would work for my app. i only have four channels and are full already, and would perfer to run single speed. simple but tough but looks to scale. any help would be very much appreciated.

I don’t know of anyone making frame rails that long. You could always extend an SCX10 chassis. It’ll take a little fab work and some time though.

I’m running a 12t motor with a 23t pinion on an 87t spur. The motor gets hot fairly fast when trying to crawl at really low speeds, but it works great as a trail rig/basher. A two speed tranny would be ideal, but a single speed tranny can work.

you could look into the 6×6 chassis made by Reign RC they have a link on rccrawler.com of mesg him on utrcrc.com under kaetwo

sweet truck! im wanting to do the same with my losi mini rock crawler. my plan is to get a scale chassis, upgrade to bent links, etc. but i was wondering, are you using a lipo battery? if so what size? and where did you get that awsome body? thanks mike

    1. Bender

Thanks. I am running a 3 cell 5000mah battery in this truck. The body is Axial’s Diablo body.

Hi, this scx10 is supercool, I´m thinking of convert mine into something like yours. But I have a litle questions for you: How do you put the servo in the chassis? Where do you put the battery, front or rear? The tires are 2.2 or 1.9? The two fan units in the rear are working or just looks? Thanks, you should put some pics without the body so we can learn some ideas.

    1. Bender

Thanks. I had to make some custom brackets and mount the steering servo to the stock frame cross members. The battery is mounted out front using the optional battery mounting hardware that comes with the SCX10 kit. The tires are 1.9. The two fans out back aren’t hooked up to a power supply, but they could be wired up fairly easily.

Cool truck, Im tryin to do something simular to this and I have three questions
Did you use the stock tranny and change out parts or did you use a tranny from a different truck?
Is the front diff open or not and what parts did you use?
    What electronics are you using?

    1. Bender

Thanks. I did use the stock transmission. The front diff is locked. I’m running a Novak Super Rooster ESC, with a 12t Traxxas Slash motor.

Cool vid,What springs are you using.Ive got a BR50 and an ax10 rtr with high clearance links, white springs, battery plate removed.battery across chassis at front and 125g solder around each rim,no foam in tyres and it goes anywhere.Im thinking about getting another car, cant decide between a traxxas slash or a scx10 but i think your prerunner style scx has won me over(I love Trophy Trucks).

    1. Bender

The suspension is stock on this SCX10. I just used the stock springs and 30wt oil that came with the kit.

Awsome scx10, i was wondering what motor and ESC you used on this truck and also what body. any info would be helpful. Thank You.

    1. Bender

I am running a 12t Slash motor and a Novak Super Rooster ESC with a 3 cell lipo. The body is Axial’s Diablo body.

do you get much torque from you set up

    1. Bender

The torque/low speed throttle resolution isn’t that great with this particular set-up. A higher turn motor would be better for low speed running and trails.

Good truck, i love this truck

Do you get a lot of wobble in your tires? If so, how would you fix it?

    1. Bender

I don’t get any wobble in my tires. If you do, check the bearings to make sure they are still in good working order.

Thanks for an idea, you sparked at thought from a angle I hadn’t given thoguht to yet. Now lets see if I can do something with it.
