Wow, why does it have to be so confusing! All I need to know is how long do the links have to be over all for the TR that comes with the short plastic links installed as the bottom links.

The problem with the article is that it talks about the 20 mm added to the factory links if they were aluminum. but does not tell you what to get if they are the plastic ones! ...like on the TR!!

Im guessing I need 73 mm and 20 mm links to add up to 93 for the upper links? would the lower "short" plastics that come installed on the TR work if I got another set?

Hey Nick, the parts in the box are for running a longer wheelbase and Honcho body. If you would like to run the 4-link you can use the parts I listed above or you can purchase AX30549. This hardware kit will convert everything over to the aluminum links and also includes the required hardware to install the 4 link.

Hi Todd, all you need to do is add a 35mm Post to the current 60mm post that is on the upper links. The part number is AXA1424 and it comes with 2. Don't forget to also pick up some extra M3x16 set screws to use in between the posts: AXA186.

Also, as a side note for anyone reading this, we just released the AX90016 Honcho TR. If you want to swap all the plastic links out for aluminum you can purchase the AX30550 aluminum link pack for the 12.3" wheelbase. It includes all the required hardware to run the 4 link too!

Thanks,
Brandon

Hey Jason,

I am assuming you are referring to installing the 4 link on a AX90012? The links included are replacement lower links for a longer wheelbase. You will need to purchase the correct upper links to use the 4 link. I have a few parts listed above. However, recently we just released the aluminum conversion for the AX90012 and it includes all the parts required to run the standard 3-link or switch to the 4-link. Take a look here: http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/scx10_tr_al_links_upgrade.html

I highly recommend this upgrade, the aluminum links look great and also strengthen the drive train.

Use the AX30549 on the AX90012 with the Dingo Body. If you would like to use the Honcho body then you need the AX30550 with the longer wheelbase. Hope that helps!

i just unpacked mine, and i love it!! I got a little anxious and tried to put the 4link setup on, and realized that the links that came in the kit are too lons, what is the proper length for the top links? do I need to buy the aluminum kit to make the 4link work?

Some time ago i replied that you can use venom creeper shocks for added lift to the scx10 tr rc,for more flex i have found out that if you take off the large spring and coller and just use as inner spring set up it lets all 4 corners drop big time! Just take apart and put shaft back in then small black spring, add oil if you want but do not need if your using this truck to crawl! Axial Rocks!!!
